Transitioning from laborer to flooring installation and interior finishes, he established himself as a contractor for residential and commercial projects. Managing large-scale installations in South Florida, he pursued an apprenticeship as a carpenter, ultimately joining the Carpenters Union. ​As the owner of a union residential home-building business, Michael oversaw the construction of spec homes, mastering project development, management, and owner representation.
