Transitioning from laborer to flooring installation and interior finishes, he established himself as a contractor for residential and commercial projects. Managing large-scale installations in South Florida, he pursued an apprenticeship as a carpenter, ultimately joining the Carpenters Union. ​As the owner of a union residential home-building business, Michael oversaw the construction of spec homes, mastering project development, management, and owner representation. With expertise in bidding, evaluating project services, and managing trade partners, he contributed to award-winning projects, including LEED-certified developments and a $125 million casino venture.
